Weekend Madrasah

Weekend Madrasah offers Islamic education totally in English for those who are not proficient in Malay. It has 3 levels:

  1. Kids (7-8 years old)
  2. Tweens (9-10 years old)
  3. Teens (11-12 years old)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the study, students will be able to:

  • Analyse and apply the fundamentals of fiqh in the domain of Ibadat
  • Remember and comprehend all the discussions under Tauhid
  • Demonstrate the Islamic behavior
  • Understand the life story of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w
  • Recite and/or memorise certain surahs of Al-Quran

LANGUAGE

The Madrasah is conducted fully in English.

PREREQUISITES

Children age between 7-12 years old.

DAY AND TIME

Kids & Tweens (7-10 years old)
Sunday, 10 am – 1 pm (3 hrs)

Teens (11-12 years old)
Saturday, 10 am – 1 pm (3 hrs)

Semesters
Semester 1: January – May
Semester 2: July – November

Duration of study for each level is 2 years

  • Al-Quran
  • Tauhid
  • Fiqh
  • Akhlak
  • Seerah

FEES

Semester Fee
$250 / semester

Material Fee
$50 / semester

ASSESSMENTS

Kids and Tweens
Grade for each subject will be based on class assessments and participation. There is no end of semester exam.

Teens
Marks will based on the following:

  • Attendance: 10%
  • Participation in class: 20%
  • End of semester exam: 70%

CERTIFICATE

  • Result Slip will be given to students after end of each semester.
  • Graduation certificate will be give to those who have completed all three levels.

FURTHER STUDIES

Students who are able to understand Malay are encouraged to further their studies at Belia level in Madrasah Mingguan Darul Huffaz. Alternatively, they can wait until they are 15 years old to join the Certificate in Learning Islam Through Al-Quran (CLIQ).

REGISTRATION

Registration for new intakes closes at the end of January every year.
